Today, the Attraction & Holiday Park Slagharen opened Raccoon Village in a festive way. Over the past few months, 63 Raccoon Lodges were built on the former event site. The complete expansion involves an investment of around 8 million euros.
This morning, General Manager Wouter Dekkers and Project Manager John Arkes sawed through a large tree trunk, officially clearing the way to Raccoon Village. After that, the Streicher family from Steinhagen, Germany, received the key to the first Raccoon Lodge from park mascots Randy & Rosie.
The Raccoon Lodge accommodates up to 6 adults with three bedrooms, one of which with a box bed. The peaceful lodges, inspired by the American Indian theme, have box-spring beds, modern kitchens, including dishwasher, and separate showers and toilet facilities.
Wouter Dekkers is very proud of the completed Raccoon Village. 'We have worked on a record number of projects this season, which represents a total investment of 14 million euros. Raccoon Village is a major milestone, in which we have developed 63 luxury lodges that respond well to the changing demands of our guests. For example, we have placed a small shed next to the accommodation where (electric) bicycles can be safely stored.'
In the coming months, the total number of Raccoon Lodges will be increased to 91. Facilities will also be added to the holiday park, such as play equipment and sports facilities. Sports enthusiasts can, for example, play tennis, volleyball, and a game of pétanque. Finally, all Raccoon Lodges will soon be equipped with Wi-Fi.
